IERTEC has developed a system of 24 GHz radars combined with NB-IoT communications technology to monitor accidents, wrong-way drivers and other dangerous situations on roads in Portugal.

Technologies

This project combines radar (24 GHz Doppler), audio capture, accelerometers and narrowband communications (NB-IoT) to identify road traffic problems independently and autonomously, using solar power, and enable immediate action when issues pose a risk to drivers.
