IERTEC completes the QEIDO G+ project to improve the technological capabilities of the QEIDO healthcare system
IERTEC SMART TECHNOLOGIES S.L. has developed the project ‘QEIDO G+: Applying industrial design and product engineering to improve the technological and functional capabilities of the QEIDO health prototype’.
IERTEC SMART TECHNOLOGIES S.L. has developed the project ‘QEIDO G+: Applying industrial design and product engineering to improve the technological and functional capabilities of the QEIDO health prototype’, an initiative aimed at advancing the technological development of a home health monitoring system through advanced product engineering and industrial design methodologies.
The project has focused on comprehensively optimising the QEIDO healthcare prototype, previously validated in a relevant environment, by redesigning its electronic architecture, firmware, software and mechanical components, improving the user experience and incorporating new functionalities. Key developments include the integration of new sensors, such as glucose measurement, and the structuring of a healthcare data model integrated into a secure cloud platform that enables the management and use of information generated by the system.
The project has resulted in QEIDO G+, a portable healthcare device for multiparameter health monitoring capable of measuring blood pressure, body temperature, oxygen saturation, electrocardiogram and glucose, integrated into a digital ecosystem comprising a user application and a secure cloud platform. Development has progressed the system from technology readiness level TRL 5 to TRL 7–8, producing a fully functional prototype, validated technically and functionally and prepared for future industrialisation.
Institutional support and funding
The QEIDO G+ project has been co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the framework of initiatives to promote technological development, innovation and high-quality research, under the slogan ‘A way of making Europe’.
The project has also received support and funding from the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI), a body under the Government of Spain and the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, which promotes business R&D projects with a strong technological component.
At IERTEC SMART TECHNOLOGIES S.L., we would like to thank the institutions whose support makes this technological advance possible:
- European Union, through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
- Government of Spain.
- Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
- CDTI – Innovation.
