IERTEC: the first Spanish company to host its data in Oracle's sovereign cloud

Last May, IERTEC entered into a collaboration agreement with ORACLE to participate jointly in projects. The first positive outcome of this agreement is that we are the first Spanish company to gain access to ORACLE's sovereign cloud, in order to guarantee the security of our data and, of course, our customers' data.

Given the sensitivity of the data, the sovereign cloud is the only one that offers full guarantees over it, as it is designed to comply with EU laws and is managed within the EU.

But… what is Oracle's sovereign cloud?

Oracle National Security Regions (ONSR) bring Oracle Cloud to secure government networks and support highly classified workloads, customer accreditations and compliance requirements that exceed those of internet-connected sovereign cloud regions. ONSRs are designed to ensure uninterrupted operation, with high-availability architectures deployed in multiregion configurations.

Some of the sovereign cloud's main features are:

• Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud gives customers access to more than 100 services identical to those in Oracle's commercial public cloud. The same applications and workloads can run in Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud; no new skills or operational processes are required.
  Customers always receive the same enterprise-grade support as Oracle's commercial cloud regions.
• Data residency through a physically and logically separate cloud architecture: the two EU Sovereign Cloud regions in Spain and Germany are independent of Oracle's commercial and government cloud regions. This independent EU cloud architecture simplifies and strengthens digital sovereignty and controls.
• Designed and operated for EU data privacy and sovereignty: Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud helps private and public organisations operate across the EU with greater control over their sensitive data and applications, ensuring closer alignment with EU digital sovereignty and privacy requirements.
  Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud is located and operated entirely within the European Union and conforms to current standard EU practice.

This advance represents a strategic step towards strengthening Iertec's position in both national and international markets and ensuring optimal protection of our customers' data.
